ABOUT US

Sahana Pradhan Foundation (SPF), established after the name of Sahana Pradhan in 2014 AD, is a non-profitable organization. It has been established with the sole purpose of protecting and promoting socio-economic and cultural rights of the people for the national development by embracing idea, ideal and vision of Sahana Pradhan, a legendary leader belonging to the then Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist Leninist) and at present the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN). Pradhan devoted her entire life to establish peaceful and secure society with democratic culture by fighting against undemocratic political structure, social evils and gender discrimination prevalent in the then Nepali society. 

The Foundation is an open forum which advocates for the protection and promotion of human rights, women rights and child rights along with conducting awareness programs for reducing social evils like domestic violence, human trafficking, caste/ethnicity and gender-based discrimination, untouchability and other ill practices of Nepali society. From its inception, the foundation has been working for carrying forward ideology, ideal and conviction of Pradhan into practice. 

The works of the foundation are entirely dedicated to the Pradhan’s lifelong struggle in Nepal by keeping intact the ideology and values established by her along with her contributions for socio-political transformation in the Nepali society. The entire focus of this foundation is on keeping Pradhan in the hearts and minds of the Nepalese so that the future generations of Nepal can be inspired from the down to earth life of Pradhan. Moreover, the motto of the foundation is to inspire the future generation of the nation from the ideology, ideal, conviction and actions of Pradhan for socio-political, economic and cultural development of Nepal.
